Olympus/Panasonic will be announcing a Whole Frame camera next September in Photokina.
According to the rumor the new camera will have a sensor of 18.7 x 18.7 mm allowing you to shoot from 3:2 to 2:3 while still remaining compatible will all 4/3rds lenses.
The sensor will have a total of 10MP (larger pixels than 10MP E3 I presume!) and would be made by Panasonic.
Not to be confused with "Full Frame" which is another lens crop format, just larger.
Whole Frame utilize most of your lens image circle allowing you to shoot any aspect ratio from 3:2 to 2:3 seamlessly, including square.
No need to rotate the camera, no need to commit to a specific crop aspect ratio and your lenses become a little wider horizontally and vertically.
