DOF ( Depth of Field?) - Nē, nē, nē, tas nav Depth of Field. Ar DOF parasti tiek apzīmēts ļoti labi nofotografēts putns. Šī saīsinājuma lietojums aizsākās tālajā 1878. gadā, kad dāņu ornitologs Jans Skrīvers (Jan Skriver) nofotografēja pirmo pīli. IMHO – Šo jau visi noteikti, ka zina. Šis saīsinājums ir cēlies no angļu valodas un pirmatnēji ir nozīmējis "I am Ho Ho Ho Ho". Šādu izteikšanos, ieraugot labas fotogrāfijas, praktizēja amerikāņi. Amerikāņi to skaidro ar to, ka viņiem ļoti tuvs ir Ziemassvētku vecītis, kas saka Ho Ho Ho, tāpēc, ja kāds par tavu bildi izsakās ar IMHO, tad tas nozīmē, ka tava bilde tiek uztverta kā dāvana un ka cilvēks ir pilnīgā Ho Ho Ho no tava mākslas darba.
